Testimonials

Through the 1st year of the program, we collected quite a few comments and stories from program participants and partners. We would like to share with you a few of the heart-warming statments we recieved via email, our online surveys, and on this website.

“Able-Disabled Advocacy’s partnership with SDFF has made an enormous impact on the lives of the low income youth and adults with disabilities.  This population could never afford the computers, internet connections and high level training they have received through the participation in the San Diego Broadband Initiative.  This is the most genuine collaboration ADA has ever been involved in.  We look forward to more programs and projects with SDFF in the future.”

Elaine Cooluris
Able-Disabled Advocacy
President and Executive Director

“I have tried for over 10 years to acquire my own computer to no avail.  Thank God for the San Diego Broadband Initiative.  Words cannot express my gratitude for all SDFF has done for me.”

“ I am so glad to have joined the program.  My children will now have the same opportunities that most kids have.  I believe that through education that will not be in the kind of financial crisis as adults that I am in now.  Thank you for giving my kids a better chance”

“I would like to thank you for the computer classes and for giving us our own personal computer.  My daughters are GATE (Gifted and Talented) students.  They get a lot of homework which needs to be done on a computer.  They no longer have to wait in line at the Tech Center for a half hour to use a computer for fifteen minutes.”

Greetings everyone and BIG Kudos to the site Webmaster and contributors. My name is Marcus. I have been a volunteer PC Instructor at "Seniors on Broadway" since opening day here almost a year ago in Chula Vista, CA. 1st off, it has been a pleasure sharing my knowledge with my class. They have really come a long way!! I am so proud of them!!
Today they will receive their PC's made possible by way of the San Diego Broadband Initiative. In these tough economic times, it is a blessing for us all to benefit from such a program.
To the Webmaster and team, this site is AWESOME!!! Easy on the eyes, colorful, tons of clickable resources and easy to navigate even for a novice. The language translator and site color changer are two of my fav features. I've registered to the site myself and have been using it the past week and will continue doing so. If you are part of the SDBI program, PLEASE bookmark this site, I KNOW it will help YOU!! The 'Resources' link itself is Gold and very well organized. I've been a PC Specialist for over 20 years and if there is a site that offers help info to 'newbies' and or 'geeks' the SDBI site is #1!!! Peace everyone...

Hello people I am finally working on the training courses. Even though I am literate for microsoft it is always good to brush up. I even missed some questions because I was moving to fast. Thats that ego. Well anyway I hope everyone is enjoying their computers like I am. Its been a long time since I had a computer in my home. Lots a work gets done. I am studing for a certification for desktop support technician and I am really trying to retain as much info as I can. Having this computer really helps. I am hoping to take the first of two test by next week. I have to quiz myself on one more part that really needs addressing. I hope everyone can get as much use as I am. Have some great days/nights.

Hello everyone!
I have finished my computer classes at Seniors on Broadway and received my computer through the San Diego Broadband Initiative on December 21/2009. I recomend this program to everyone! It was fun, informative and a good learning experience. You will learn computer basics, teaching you to how use your computer, that alone is worth alot. You will also learn how to upkeep and maintain your computer, now that will even save you money! My teacher was Marcus A. Canty, I want to thank him very much. Mr. Canty has a way of teaching that makes complicated thing seem easy and understandable. He makes sure everyone learns. Also special thanks to Paul Andrade,Computer Learning Center Coordinator,Maac Project. This program opens the doors of opportunity to many.

Thank You All

I want to say thanks. I am raising my grandson and computer access is critical to his education. You have now contributed to him having the computer access he needs to succeed and become-whatever he desires! I thank you!
